The Ingenuity Project recognizes the national issue that women are vastly underrepresented in the STEM workforce. With women making up approximately 47% of the total US workforce, yet only 24% in STEM fields, the lack of women in STEM careers creates a significant gap in STEM jobs being filled. The Innovator’s Tea brought professional women in STEM careers and high school girls together to encourage education, inspiration, and connection.
The Innovators’ Tea was a huge success with over 70 people in attendance, including about 35 women from various backgrounds and professional fields such as academia, tech, finance, law, marine and micro-biology, and engineering. The event included time for networking, a beautiful lunch and tea service, and culminated with a fantastic panel discussion on the topic: The Importance of Women in STEM.

Participants created a dynamic, engaging atmosphere that encouraged girls to ask questions and be excited to learn about different paths to a STEM career.
