Grace Kearney on Math SAT with total score of 2380, Matt Ekey and Edward Samson on Math 2 SAT 2, Stephen Timmel on Math 2 and Physics SAT 2, Michael Tontchev on Chemistry SAT 2 and Jinjie Wu on US History SAT 2.
Future Scholars Program at Johns Hopkins University
Joseph Cleary, Matt Ekey, Stephen Timmel and Michael Tontchev have been selected to participate in the Program.
Its an opportunity for high school seniors to take Hopkins regularly scheduled university-level mathematics courses for Hopkins credits.

2011 Baltimore Scholars Award
10 Ingenuity seniors received four-year, full-tuition scholarships to the Johns Hopkins University: Camaree Barr, Caryn Carson, James Fulwilwer, Selena Guerrero-Martin, Muhammad Hamza, Justus Jackson, Daniel Jalova, Jonathan McKenzie, and Edward Samson.
Gates Millennium Scholar
Ingenuity senior Muhammad Hamza is a 2011 Gates Millennium Scholar.

National History Day Statewide Competition
Caryn Carson won first place in the regional competition and the Award for Excellence in Civic Action and Engagement in the statewide competition.
International Bridge Building Contest (IBBC)
The 2011 IBBC was held at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois on April 30, 2011. This year, two teams from Poly were eligible to compete in this competition. Shavonte Brandon and Nadine Benavides, Ingenuity 9th grades, won second place for their entry. Trey Huff, also a 9th grade Ingenuity student, finished in eleventh place. Shavonte's and Nadine's bridge had an efficiency score of 3855 (the ratio of the mass supported divided by the mass of the structure itself); Trey's bridge efficiency in the IBBC event was 2851. Congratulations to our students for their international success at solving this challenge in structural engineering!
U.S. Presidential Scholars Program
Dana Katzenelson is a 2011 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program semifinalist.
The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964, by executive order of the President, to recognize and honor some of our nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors. Each year, up to 141 students are named as Presidential Scholars, one of the nation's highest honors for high school students.

Perfect 800 SAT scores
Muhammad Hamza and Michael Tontchev scored 800 on Math SAT, and John Beck and Grace Kearney scored 800 on Reading SAT.
AMC 12
Muhammad Hamza, Dana Katzenelson and Lawrence Wang qualified to take the American Invitational Mathematics Exam (AIME).
Baltimore Science Fair
Michael Tontchev won the Grand Prize in Physical Science ("Subject identification in a sentence using plain context-free grammars"). Michael will represent the Greater Baltimore region in the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair, May 8-13 in Los Angeles.
Elias Weston-Farber won 1st place in Biological Sciences.
Additional Awards: Michael Tontchev received the Yale Science and Engineering Association Award, the Armed Forces Electronics and Communications Award, National Security Award, the US Army Award for Science and Engineering Excellence and First Place Award from the Baltimore Chapter 1 Physical Science. Edward Sampson received the First Place Award from the Baltimore Chapter of the Association of Computing Machinery. Ilenna Jones received the Third Place Award from the US Public Health Service, Surgeon General's Special Award Certificate. |
